technology

Optomap

The Optomap ultra-wide digital retinal imaging system captures more than 80% of your retina in one panoramic image. Traditional viewing methods typically reveal only 10 – 15% of your retina at one time. The special light used in an Optomap allows us to see far into the periphery of your eye to areas that are normally very difficult to view. It can even do this without the need for dilating eye drops in most cases. An Optomap is made up of three different scans using special wavelengths of light designed to identify abnormality in the different layers of your retina.  Optomap scans are completely painless and are non-intrusive.

Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA)

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging tool that provides detailed cross-sectional images of the retina and optic nerve and helps visualize the blood flow of the eye. It helps diagnose, monitor, and manage eye conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy by detecting changes in eye structures and tracking treatment effectiveness. Its precision enables early detection and intervention for optimal eye health.

Visual field

At Ocean Eye Care, we utilize the Topcon Tempo visual field analyzer—a next-generation, AI-powered system that delivers fast, accurate, and comfortable visual field testing. This advanced technology helps us detect early signs of glaucoma, neurological issues, and other changes in vision with precision and ease.

ultrasound

Ultrasound is a special imaging test eye doctors use to see inside the eye when they can’t get a clear view—like if there’s bleeding, a cataract, or other blockage. It works kind of like the ultrasound used during pregnancy, but it’s designed just for the eyes.

Corneal Topography

Corneal topography is a non-invasive imaging technique used to map the surface curvature of the cornea. Its primary purpose is to diagnose, monitor, and manage corneal conditions such as keratoconus, astigmatism, and corneal scarring. It is also used to guide contact lens fitting, assess suitability for refractive surgery (like LASIK), and evaluate post-surgical outcomes. This detailed mapping ensures personalized and precise eye care.

Essilor Lens Tracing and Edging

At Ocean Eye Care, we utilize the Essilor lens tracing and edging system to deliver truly customized, same-day prescription lenses for many patients. This cutting-edge technology allows us to precisely trace your chosen frames and craft lenses in-house, ensuring a seamless fit and exceptional visual clarity. By combining advanced digital precision with artisan-level care, we’re able to offer fast turnaround without compromising on quality—so you can leave with eyewear that’s both personalized and polished, all in the same day.
